MOLA Architecture was appointed by Evara in 2021 for a residential scheme at Tandy’s Lane, located on the northern side of the Adamstown Strategic Development Zone. The Village Centre forms Phase 3 of the four phased development and delivers a new focal point for the growing community.
The scheme comprises an L-shaped main building ranging in height from five to seven storeys, together with a separate two-storey retail services building located to the south-east of the site. The main building provides 107 apartments, three retail units, a café, a crèche and ancillary facilities at ground level, alongside a new public space and communal courtyard.
A distinctive seven-storey landmark element, featuring metal cladding and corner balconies, anchors the corner of the site, providing a strong and sense of arrival. The building massing has been carefully considered to respond sensitively to the surrounding context. To the north-east, the height steps down to five storeys adjacent to existing three-storey houses, ensuring a comfortable transition in scale. Similarly, along the southern edge, the building reduces to five storeys where it faces predominantly three-storey units and overlooks the public space. The separate two-storey retail services building completes the urban block, enclosing the communal courtyard and reinforcing a lively, well-defined streetscape.
