Pinterest EMEA Headquarters

Rationale: The obvious reason is the scale of the company, working on one of the biggest social media platforms headquarters will get peoples attention. Working for such a pristine company will convey that MOLA is a respected player in the industry, capable of completing even the biggest of firms projects. The other reason is based on the design of the HQ. MOLA designed it as a journey through Ireland, having references to Irish landscape and culture throughout the building. This allows our copy to showcase MOLA’s bold and innovative nature, while also being a safe choice, that the biggest companies in the world can rely on.

Copy: From the very outset, it was clear the Pinterest EMEA Headquarters in Dublin would be a special project. As the most recognisable online inspiration platform, Pinterest strives for their offices to be a reflection of their business. Each Pinterest office holds a distinct identity and a close connection to its location.

Pinterest wanted the office to be full of delightful surprises, moments of discovery and layered design references, a reflection of using the platform itself. The task was to deliver a design packed with show-stopping, innovative spaces rooted in Ireland, while giving Pinterest’s 300 Dublin-based employees an inclusive, collaborative hub where ideas could gather momentum.

The design story is a journey through Ireland, rich with contrast and meaning. It begins in the urban zone of Reception and moves through Dublin’s Botanical Gardens and neighbouring Trinity College, then onward through a sweep of Irish landscapes. We pass through countryside inspired by Manor Houses, Celtic Forest, Sandy Dunes and Stormy Seas, brought to life with carefully chosen textures, finishes and bespoke elements. Each space reveals a new layer.

The Dublin office adopts Pinterest’s “Pinflex” work model, giving employees the autonomy to work their own way. That mindset shaped the layout, which offers a wide range of work-points across the floor. Employees can choose where to work depending on task, mood or need. Whether it’s a workstation, a focus room or one of over 200 unique settings, the space supports different styles of working and welcomes neurodiverse needs.

One of the project’s boldest innovations was the creation of a fully immersive, multi-sensory experience. The design moves beyond the visual to engage sound, scent and touch. Each zone is shaped by biophilic principles, with planting schemes tailored to specific moods and themes. Organic paths and curved forms mirror nature. Materials like cedar shingles and wildflower wallpaper bring texture and scent into play. Ambient sounds of birdsong, rain and wind respond to shifting weather. The result is an interior that feels alive, tuned to both body and place.
We were delighted to take part in delivering a space that epitomised the spirit of inspiration, Irishness and craftsmanship through the sheer joy of design.
