MOLA Architecture’s brief for the Campus at Cherrywood sought to reposition the former Cherrywood Business Park as a contemporary working environment capable of retaining existing tenants and attracting new occupiers. A strategic masterplan defined how the public realm, shared amenities and building interfaces could be upgraded to support this ambition, introducing a coherent landscape structure, improving permeability and delivering a suite of amenities that enrich daily life on campus. The works included the refurbishment and re-cladding of office buildings, new reception and lobby environments, a covered amphitheatre, a biophilic sunken garden linking basement parking to street level, distributed meeting pods in the landscape, and high-quality end-of-trip facilities for cyclists.
At the heart of the campus, the Cherrywood Canopy and Sunken Garden create a new civic space for informal meetings, gatherings and events. The gently curving timber structure provides shelter and a sense of enclosure, framing views across the landscape and drawing daylight deep into the garden below. Nearby, a family of meeting pods sit among trees and planting, offering quieter spaces for collaboration while engaging directly with the natural setting. Their renewable energy systems support the campus’s wider lighting network, reinforcing a commitment to low-carbon operations.
Together, these interventions establish a campus with generous amenities and a strong relationship to landscape, encouraging wellbeing, collaboration and sustainable mobility within a transforming business park.
