MOLA are delighted and honoured to have led the design and delivery of the IDA’s new global headquarters at 3 Park Place, Dublin 2. Representing and showcasing Ireland Inc., the offices transform both the workplace environment and the visitor experience, reflecting the IDA’s global stature and ambitions.
MOLA acted as Interior Architects and Employers Representative, completing this high profile project on programme and on budget. The new accommodation spans four floors of office space and includes a full commercial kitchen and canteen, a micro data centre, conference rooms, a library, work cafés, a client business lounge, an experience centre and a state of the art boardroom.
The workplace strategy informed the design brief and set clear project goals: access to natural light, excellent acoustics, a diversity of spaces, flexibility and enhanced collaboration. At the heart of each floor, ‘the hearth’ contains all services and infrastructure, allowing the surrounding neighbourhoods to be adaptable, outward facing and focused on user experience.
Finishes are warm, inviting, timeless and contemporary. Circulation routes carve through the core, with meandering geometries framing views and guiding movement. Break out spaces along the route animate the journey, encouraging informal interaction and chance encounters. Pantries and lounge spaces overlook the Iveagh Gardens, while destination zones such as the Library provide quiet areas for focused work and support interaction between floors and departments.
Transitioning from a largely cellular office environment to a fully open plan required extensive change management and staff engagement. Through departmental workshops and design sessions, MOLA worked with the IDA team to create ownership and enthusiasm for the new way of working. The collaborative approach extended to finishes, layouts and spatial planning, supporting the IDA’s vision to attract and retain the best talent. The result is a dynamic, modern workplace that combines professionalism with warmth, encourages collaboration at all levels and offers a distinctly Irish welcome to all who enter.
